EARLY INTERVENTION
Early Intervention is a program that provides assistance to infants and children from birth to 3 years of age who need help in areas of cognitive, speech, gross and fine motor and social / emotional development and self-help skills. It also provides support & training for parents and families. The Early Intervention Program at the Mifflin-Juniata Special Needs Center provides services to children who have developmental delays or special needs. Services are provided in the child's natural environment, which includes the child's home or child care setting. Together with the family, we work to help children develop language, motor, and learning skills enabling them to grow and reach his or her greatest potential. Services provided by the program, include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and special instruction services.
